2022 Triumph Street Scrambler: A Modern Classic Fit for the Urban Jungle and Light Trails
Contents
The 2022 Triumph Street Scrambler is a modern classic inspired by the desert racers of yesteryear. It sits alongside the Street Twin in the 2022 Triumph Motorcycles lineup and has some features that make it capable enough for light off-roading. Like most Triumph motorcycles, the Street Scrambler fuses old-school-cool heritage with modern capability for an unmistakable ride experience.
Powering the Street Scrambler is Triumph’s high-torque 900cc parallel-twin producing 64.1 hp and 59 lb-ft of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Typically, modern classics are void of a lot of the electronic wizardry we see on many of today’s motorcycles. Still, the British manufacturer has equipped the Street Scrambler with a decent amount of tech. There are three riding modes on offer — Road, Rain, and Off-Road — that alter the level of intervention from the ABS and traction control.
The Street Scrambler comes with a Digi-analog instrument cluster — the speedometer is an analog unit, but other helpful information like range and the odometer are digital. The bike features conventionally upright KYB front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. This isn’t a hardcore off-road motorcycle, and there’s a respectable 120mm of suspension travel at either end.
For 2022, Triumph has added a host of intricate new details, including a side panel with an aluminum number board, new headlight brackets, and a different throttle body finish.
The 2022 Triumph Street Scrambler starts at $11,295 USD / $12,845 CAD.
