2022 Indian Chieftain: An All-American Bagger
Contents
The 2022 Indian Chieftain is one of four ‘Bagger’ models in the 2022 Indian Motorcycle portfolio. The Chieftain perfectly encapsulates what American-made cruisers are but takes it a step further with several-modern day features.
Powering the Chieftain is the company’s air-cooled Thunderstroke 111 engine, displacing 1,811cc and producing 119 lb-ft of torque. Indian Motorcycle has not revealed an official figure for how much horsepower the machine produces, but private tests have found that it lies around the 90hp mark.
The Chieftain offers a comprehensive list of equipment as standard, including a 7-inch infotainment system powered by the company’s Ride Command software, electronically adjustable windshield, three ride modes, rear cylinder deactivation, cruise control, keyless ignition, a 100-watt audio system, and a 12V charging port.
Apart from the above, you also have the option to equip your motorcycle with a host of accessories to improve its touring abilities. Some of the add-ons include different seat options, added storage, auxiliary lights, and multiple handlebar options.
In 2022, the Indian Chieftain will be available in just one color scheme — Black Metallic.
The 2022 Indian Chieftain starts at $22,499 USD / $27,599 CAD
