Five years have passed since the iconic SuperSport was reintroduced to the Italian Manufacturer’s lineup. The Ducati SuperSport 950 / 950 S has quickly established itself as one of the most well-rounded models in the 2022 Ducati lineup fleet. Quipped with a sporting edge and everyday comfort, the agile SuperSport is great at commuting, touring, canyon riding, and even the occasional track day.
Powered by the Ducati’s Motorcycles 937 cc Testastretta 11-degree L-Twin cylinder engine, the SuperSport 950 hits the performance sweet spot. Claimed 110 horsepower at 9000 rpm and 69 ft-lbs of torque at 6500 rpm, all in a chassis with a dry weight of 405 lbs. All that low-down torque gives a smooth shove for that perfect corner exit while settling into the wide midrange powerband to find your line through the long sweepers.
The engine is complemented with an advanced suite of electronics that includes multiple riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, next-generation traction control, wheelie control, and a Ducati bi-directional quick-shifter. As is tradition with Ducatis, all these parameters can be adjusted with a deep dive into the new full-color TFT dash.
What do you get with the bump up to the 950 S? Suspension improvements. While the fully adjustable Marzocchi on the standard 950 is good, the fully adjustable Ohlins set up on the 950 S is even better. Plus, you can debate with your buddies on which is the faster color, Ducati Red or White?
