The engine of the S 1000 R comes from the super sports bike, tuned for 165hp similar to others in the 2022 lineup, and fitted with an Akrapovic silencer. Weighing in at just 438 lbs, it can be further lightened with the M Package, dropping the wet weight to just 427 lbs.

When ordering there are 3 main packages. The Dynamic package includes the DDC electronic suspension, the Pro Riding Modes, the Pro Gear Shift Assistant, and the engine spoiler. The Comfort package adds keyless ride, a USB charging interface, and adaptive cruise control. Finally the exclusive M Package boasts not only high-level performance thanks to ultra-light M carbon wheels, M Lightweight battery and other M Performance Parts, it also looks great with the iconic M colors and the M cover kit.
