2022 Aprilia RSV4 & RSV4 Factory: The Italian Missile
Contents
As with all superbike lovers, after finishing watching a successful MotoGP season many fans are found muttering to themselves, “man, I wish I could own that bike”… If you’re an Aprilia Factory fan, the RSV4 and RSV4 Factory is the closest thing you will find to a full-fledged MotoGP machine in their entire 2022 model lineup.
Last year brought a brand new engine to the RSV4 family in the form of a 1099cc inline-four capable of laying down a heartstopping 217 claimed horsepower. Along with numerous overhauls to their entire lineup last year, the RSV4 brothers saw updates to their aesthetics in the form of MotoGP-inspired winglets for added downforce in addition to a major over facelift.
To experience the full force of Aprilia’s performance catalogue, the Italian motorcycle designer offers a ‘Factory’ edition with upgraded performance parts to increase handling and manouverablility.
The RSV4 factory is Aprilia’s top-of-the-line model in their entire 2022 lineup, and it has the added bonuses to give it a leg up when compared to the standard version. A bigger TFT dash gives you more visual real estate to control Aprilia’s Performance Ride Control (APRC) system utilizing a new Marelli ECU and six-axis inertial system for added computational assists depending on your rider modes. The Factory edition also brings lightweight forged aluminum wheels, semi-active Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension, and Brembo Stylema brakes to boot.
The 2022 Aprilia RSV4 starts at $18,999 USD / $20,995 CAD.

2022 Aprilia RSV4 & RSV4 Factory Features
Winning form
The latest model sees a dramatic change to its swingarm, now lighter and with a reinforced lower brace. Inspired by the Aprilia RS-GP used in MotoGP, this innovation reduces masses and increases the stability of the rear end during acceleration.
Daytime Running Lights
In keeping with Aprilia’s lighting approach on sport bikes, the RSV4 is equipped with a triple LED front headlight unit, featuring perimeter DRLs and “bending lights” function, where the auxiliary lights increase visibility when cornering by illuminating the inside of a turn.
An engine without rival
The first mass-produced, high-performance narrow V4, this represents the most revolutionary and powerful engine ever built by Aprilia. While it meets Euro 5 emissions criteria, this doesn’t come at the cost of performance, with increased torque and an exceptional maximum power level of 217 HP, the result of smart modifications such as a new exhaust system and increased effective engine displacement, now 1099 cc compared to the previous 1077 cc.
Designed for comfort
Improved ergonomics come in the form of a new fuel tank, and through lowering both the seat and foot pedal-footrest by 9 mm, creating a more natural, relaxed riding position, even for taller riders.
Also new is the Magneti Marelli ECU 11MP control system for improved management of the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension and a riding experience like never before.
An engine to set your heart racing
The latest RSV4 and RSV4 Factory models are all powered by the same 1100 cc, the first mass-produced high-performance narrow V 4-cylinder in the world. Lightweight and compact like no other, it delivers torque of up to 125Nm at 10500 rpm. Horsepower remains at an impressive 217, already hard to beat, but it now meets Euro 5 criteria and breaks the 305 km/h barrier at top speed.
