In any configuration, the Triumph Bonneville is the quintessential British motorcycle. It takes everything we love about modern Triumph motorcycles, but installed in a stylish, retro chassis.

The heart of the Speed Twin is Triumph’s high-powered 1200cc liquid-cooled, 8-valve, parallel twin Bonneville engine, uprated with Thruxton tuning. In terms of power, the Speed Twin produces 95 horsepower and 82 lb-ft of peak torque. The power is delivered to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission and kept under control using Ride-by-Wire technology, switchable traction control, and ABS, a torque-assist clutch, and three riding modes.

Aside from the sleek and classic styling of the Speed Twin—which includes a signature 3.8-gallon tank, upswept exhausts, a bench seat, and sculpted bodywork—other goodies include stylish instrumentation, LED lighting, a tire pressure monitoring system, immobilizer, and USB charging port. Plus, Triumph offers more than 70 accessories for riders to choose from.

For 2021, the Speed Twin is available in three color options: Silver Ice / Storm Grey, Korosi Red / Storm Grey, and Jet Black.

2021 Triumph Speed Twin Features

At the new Speed Twin’s heart is an updated high power 1200cc Bonneville twin engine with the celebrated Thruxton performance tune that peaks at 97PS @ 6,750rpm. Evolved from the Thruxton powerplant, this enhanced engine is a low inertia high performance 6-speed 8-valve parallel twin that now features a magnesium cam cover, a revised clutch assembly and mass-optimised engine covers.

This is a new kind of performance modern classic, with an exhilarating torque delivery from low down and then right through the range. Torque peaks at 82.6 FT-lbs (@4,950rpm), matching the output of the Thruxton R, and a whole 40% more than Triumph’s latest Street Twin model.

Built to a high performance specification, the Speed Twin noticeably showcases twin Brembo front brakes. In addition, lightweight cast aluminium wheels and high specification Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tyres both contribute to the Speed Twin’s class leading agile and dynamic handling. An Anti-locking Braking System (ABS), and traction control that is easily switchable via the left hand switchcube, deliver enhanced control of the Speed Twin’s high torque performance whatever the riding conditions.

This incredible motorcycle has a thrilling deep British roar to match the Speed Twin’s legendary name. The distinctive twin black megaphone upswept sports silencers produce a wonderful throaty sound which is all capably supported by Triumph’s innovative uninterrupted flowing exhaust header run, with hidden cat box, so the lines are as smooth as the ride itself.

The Speed Twin’s newly-designed chassis has been evolved from the Thruxton R and crafted to provide a new benchmark in agile, dynamic riding. Working together with this tailored new frame are high specification front and rear suspension, tuned to deliver a precise modern roadster ride with confidence-inspiring intuitive feel, whether you’re commuting, traveling longer distances or just riding for the fun of it.

For maximum possible rider fun, comfort and control, the Speed Twin benefits from a host of advanced technology. Three rider modes – Road, Rain, and Sport – that adjust throttle map and traction control settings to suit conditions and rider preference, the bike’s LED lighting brings greater durability and power efficiency, and the lighter feel of the torque-assist clutch delivers more comfort over long journeys and stop-start urban commutes. In addition, feature-packed twin clocks, immobilizer and a USB socket are all included as standard.
