A Sleek Take On The 125 Duke
Europe has quite a large market for small-displacement motorcycles thanks to their licensing laws and regulations that prohibit riders from reaching the big bikes until they have spent enough time on A2-suited rides. AS a result, Husqvarna is bringing a small version of their successful Vitpilen in 125cc form for European A2 riders to add to the Rolodex of starter bikes available to them.
The Svartpilen is the smarter, glasses-wearing alter-ego to the wildstyle KTM 125 Duke. It uses the same liquid-cooled 125cc engine (paired with a six-speed gearbox), and even the frame has been carried over from brother Duke. The engine should produce 15 horsepower and 8.85 lb-ft of torque, meaning this little guy will be easier than ever to get on for new riders.
WP Apex suspension components keep your ride smooth, and the ByBre brakes provide the power you need to stop this bike, but beyond the styling changes (and the fact that the Svartpilen weighs an extra 7 pounds) most of the differences between the Svartpilen and the Duke 125 will boil down to visual updates to set the two bikes apart.
The 2021 Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 will be available to check out at your nearest dealership next month (February 2021), but unfortunately, official pricing has yet to be announced.
