Super Special: The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special
Contents
The Scrambler 1100 Special returns as part of the 2021 Ducati line-up in North America. Unfortunately, it’s one of the few Ducati motorcycles that doesn’t get any kind of update for the new year. It’s still exactly the same as last year’s model, and it doesn’t even get any tweaks to make it Euro5 compliant either. But don’t despair! If you’re looking for an Italian motorcycle with attractive styling, impressive performance, and a reasonable price tag, this is the Scrambler for you.
What makes the Scrambler 1100 Special such a steal is the fact that it’s like the other heavyweight Scramblers, but with some lower spec parts that help keep the costs down. What it lacks in top-end features, it makes up for in aesthetics, since it’s arguably the most attractive of the Scrambler 1100 models. But don’t let us undersell it: it’s a great motorcycle.
It features Marzocchi front suspension, and a Kayaba rear shock—both incredibly competent units. It also features Brembo brakes, cornering ABS, selectable ride modes, and the same tech found in the rest of the range. And of course, it still uses the same 1,079cc Desmodromic L-twin engine that with 86 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque that Scrambler enthusiasts have come to know and love.
For 2021, the Scrambler 1100 Special is available in a unique “Custom Grey” color option.
The 2021 Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport starts from $14,395 USD / $16,995 CAD.
