Kawasaki Motorcycles has launched its 2017 sports motorcycles with an updated H2 and a carbon model, added an R to the ZX-10R and upgraded its Z1000SX.
No prices or availability have yet been announced when the motorcycles were unveiled at the INTERMOT show in Cologne.
The updates to the supercharged H2 sports bikes are new cornering traction and ABS, an up and down quickshifter, better ventilated Brembo brakes, new silver paint, a Euro 4 engine and exhaust, a lean angle sensor on the instruments with maximum lean angle recording, and an Öhlins TTX rear shock.
Only 120 H2 Carbon models will be available. They feature a carbon-fibre upper fairing, which you can also add as an accessory to current models.
Z1000SX
The updated Z1000SX also gets cornering ABS and traction control, ‘easy-pull’ slipper clutch to prevent rear-wheel lock-ups on down-shifts, sportier suspension settings, digital gear position indicator, adjustable gear shift light with a rev counter needle that glows, double-bubble adjustable screen, LED headlights and thicker-padded seats.
ZX-10RR
2017 Kawasaki ZX-10RROnly 500 of these special R sports bikes will be made and we believe they may only be available in Europe.
There are no power figures supplied, but the ZX-10RR has high-lift racing camshafts, reinforced crankcases, low-friction tappets, cornering ABS and traction control, lighter forged aluminium Marchesini wheels, up/down quick-shifter, launch control, upgraded Brembo brakes and there’s an optional race kit.
They come in Kawasaki Racing Team’s black and white ‘Winter Test’ livery.
No word yet from Kawasaki Australia on pricing or when the new models will arrive.
