2012 Dealer Expo Introduction
February 14, 2011 – The 2012 Powersports Dealer Expo is being held this weekend, February 17-19, at the Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I’m now here “live” to cover the event.
Coverage of the Dealer Expo has been a yearly event on webBikeWorld.com since 2005. The Powersports Dealer Expo is the largest motorcycle dealer show in North America, held each February on President’s Day weekend in Indianapolis.
The Dealer Expo is a “trade only” event, where motorcycle and powersports dealers get to meet and greet the manufacturers and distributors and see all of the latest products about to be released for the start of a new motorcycling season. The webBikeWorld reports give you a “live” insider’s look at the show, which otherwise is closed to the public (for some strange reason!).
The Indy show traditionally focuses on new motorcycle gear including clothing, helmets and accessories, not motorcycles. In that regard, it is different from the huge EICMA 2011 show (report) in Milan. Also, the Dealer Expo is focused on the U.S. market.
The 2012 Dealer Expo will feature the formal release of the Shoei Neotec flip-up helmet (review), the U.S. version of the webBikeWorld Motorcycle Helmet of the Year, the SCHUBERTH SR1 (review), the new SCHUBERTH S2, the Nolan N-104 flip-up (review) and the Cardo Scala Rider G9 intercom (First Look).
Many more new products will be announced, including the Sena SMH5 intercom and more, and I’ll be there to cover it all.
