This is my 1950 Triumph Thunderbird. I purchased it as a barn find 4 months ago. It is named after my wife who is beautiful, loving and patient. The bike was so rough I almost never started it. It had been in a hard hit at some point. It is a 1950 Tbird motor in a 1953 frame with an ultra rare sprung hub rear wheel. Poorly “rebuilt” in the mid 60’s then bottom shelved in pieces until I got it in 2015. The work consisted of straightening the frame, entirely going thru the engine and trans, fabricating and acquiring many bits, then powder, coating and painting with single stage acrylic enamel. My goal was to build a period correct bobber and several vintage parts were used such as the Bates headlight and seat. The Twilight is fabbed from a 59 Austin Healey. The speedo is genuine Smiths from 1949. My inspiration for the color scheme is a 1953 ultra rare Triumph Blackbird. I am a home builder – enthusiast and did all of the work myself in my one car garage over a 4 month period.
