This is a full face helmet that has modeled a lot of its design and features from the Bell star helmet. The Bell vortex is a well priced helmet that offers a number of different features. (Click here for the full list of features.)
The great thing about this helmet is that it comes with a selection of different vents including brow and chine vents and also comes with other important features such as a shield which is scratch resistant and is also effective as an anti fog device. The helmet also has antimicrobial liners which are washable, which is good as it will keep the helmet fresh and clean for many years to come. One also has the ability of using their speakers or Bluetooth device as there are cutaways from the helmet and space to put them. There is also adjustable flow within the helmet and ventilation velocity which can create adjustments for the rider when they wish to control the temperature and the ventilation within the helmet. Many features are used via click release in the shield which makes it easy to use.

The shape of the helmet is also well designed and comes with a comfortable liner which is plush and removable. The exterior of the helmet is shaped against the wind and is made from a polycarbonate material which is lightweight. On the exterior of the helmet there are also cool graphics which will make the rider stand out. The helmet also comes with certifications so that the helmet can be used on the track.
Because of the wide range of features and the great price of this helmet you really are missing out if you haven’t tried one of these. Everyone of the Bell motorcycle helmets that have been through reviews in the last 10 years have been of a very high quality. The Bell vortex is looking to be the deal of the year for motorbike helmets.
The price of this helmet is where it really stands out and one often imagines that this model will fetch up to $500 at a retail price considering the earlier bell motorbike models were in this price range. However, the Bell vortex costs under $200 which is an incredibly great deal when compared to other bike helmets, and leaves room in the budget for more helmet accessories you may need.
The Bell vortex is fairly similar to the Bell star motorbike helmet in terms of its internal shape and has a slightly narrow style which may not suit individuals whose heads are very round. However, the helmet should be fine for the majority of users. This helmet also feels fairly similar to other motorbike helmet such as the Aria RX-Q and the Shoei RF-1100.
One thing you may notice about the helmet when you put it on is that it has fewer ridges on the inside than with other motorbike helmets. Bell may consider looking at different ways in which to add flat stitches in the lining of the helmet so as to make them as though they are one piece. This may make them feel more comfortable on the users head in the long run.

However, the overall construction on the padding and interior material of the helmet is very good and the comfort level when the user is wearing helmet is very high. The liner within the helmet can also be completely removed and this can be reconfigured so as to allow different amounts of air to move through the vents when the rider is on the bike.
The large size helmet fits well and should suit many full-grown individuals. It also comes with a large amount of padding on the inside which will break in over time. The helmet also has good ear pockets which extend out to the shell of the helmet and are also of a deep nature. These are covered with a thin layer of mesh which makes it easy to slip in some speakers, which can be found on similar motorbike models such as the Sena SMH 10.
One can also add other devices and objects within the helmet, such as sunglasses. However, there is no specialized place to strap the sunglasses in. There is however a magnetic section on the chin strap which can hold things in place and is a good idea.
The large size helmet weighs 1784g in total and is evenly distributed throughout the helmet. Some individuals may find a slight heaviness on the top of the helmet. However, if you’re after a helmet by Bell which is made from a composite then you should expect to pay around $500.
